Fiat's Rich History
1910
Fiat is an Italian car manufacturer that was founded in 1899 by a group of investors, including Giovanni Agnelli. The company's name stands for Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (Italian Automobile Factory of Turin).
In the 1950s, Fiat began to expand internationally, establishing manufacturing plants in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, and Spain. The company also introduced a number of popular models during this time, including the Fiat 500, which became one of the best-selling cars in European history.

In the 2000s, Fiat formed a partnership with General Motors, but the two companies eventually ended their relationship. Fiat also acquired a stake in Chrysler, and in 2014 it acquired the remaining shares to become the sole owner of the company.
Today, Fiat is part of Stellantis, one of the world's largest car manufacturers. The company's current lineup includes popular models such as the Fiat 500 and the Fiat Panda, as well as a range of commercial vehicles.
